As we are approaching the much anticipated iphone 7 launch date, which is due September this year, the rumours are pouring in as expected. Earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone 7 will have few killer features. “We are going to give you things that you can’t live without, that you just don’t know you need today.” His statement definitely raises everyone’s expectation and with the latest leaked images surfacing on the web daily, the rumours are becoming even more prominent. Here are our top rumours that may soon be the reality:
1No 3.5 mm headphone jack
According to several sources, Apple is planning to get rid of the headphone jack in the iPhone 7. The Lightning connector will play the dual role as its charging port and headphone jack. Apple need this badly to assert that it’s still the frontrunner of innovation unlike other devices which are launched with only iterations rather than innovations. According to another source, Apple might replace the headphone jack with a wireless Bluetooth. Well this idea will surely be appreciated by the iPhone users as there will be no wires to deal with.
2iphone 7 pro
Apple is tipped to release 3 variants for the first time. A pro version might be launched along with the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus featuring a mind boggling 256 GB storage variant. Based on the prices outlined in the leaks, the potential pro variant would be very expensive – the figures roughly translate to Rs. 90000. It would be really interesting to see what the pro version have in store for us.
3Goodbye to 16GB variant
Apple may soon say goodbye to its 16GB variant and set 32GB as the base variant. It will only be the right decision if apple does it so as the 16GB version is already regarded by many smartphone reviewers as obsolete with the advent of the present app ecosystem and 4k video recording.
The iPhone 7 also might have a redesigned antenna and possibly will come in deep blue instead of gray. Few leaks suggest that the bands will be shifted to the top and bottom edges instead.
Apple is expected to launch iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the same price points as previous generations. The iPhone 7 Pro on the other hand is expected to begin from CNY 7,088 (roughly Rs. 72,900) for the 32GB model, and go up to CNY 8,888 (roughly Rs. 91,200) for the 256GB model.
We only hope Apple live up to everyone’s expectation and launch a phone that lure everyone to upgrade to the latest iphone, else Apple is expected to see further dip in sales in the coming quarters. More and more rumours are bound to pour in as we approach the launch date. Stay tuned for more updates.
